Welcome to Hervélo
Scottish Cycling Club of the Year 2010, the year we formed.
We are a cycling club in the Edinburgh area which offers a variety of rides for a range of abilities with a focus on sociable rides. We have over 70 members, most of whom are women.
We encourage cycling at all levels including road rides (the 'Skinnies') and mountain biking (the 'Mudhoneys). You'll see members in Hervélo jerseys in races across Scotland, including downhill mountain biking (includes the Fox Hunt with Rachel Atherton), enduros, cyclocross, road events, sportives and charity rides.
Through our sponsors Pedals Bike Care we are able to offer discounts to members on bikes and bike parts.
If you would like to join us in 2019 here is some guidance on the type of bike suitable for each ride.
Mudhoneys - for those who like getting dirty off road (and off track). Generally mountain bikes are required for trips to trail centres such as Glentress/ Innerleithen and rides in the Pentlands. For off road spins around town cyclocross bikes may be enough. We organise regular open to all rides at Glentress to allow potential new members to come along and meet some of our current members. Check out What's On for more details. Members organise more regular rides via our Mudhoneys facebook page (club members only). These are a mixture of blue/red trails at Glentress to some more gnarly 'off piste' trails around the Tweed Valley and day trips further afield.
Skinnies - for the roadies among you. Road bikes are required for these rides and hybrids are not recommended. Early season easy Skinnies rides are 20/30 miles on flattish terrain. Intermediate rides are about 40/50 miles with hills. Longer rides are 50+ miles. We organise monthly regular open to all rides to allow potential new members to come along and meet some of our current members. A rough average speed is given as guidance, although no riders will be left behind. Check out What's On for more details. Members also advertise more regular rides on the Skinnies facebook page (club members only).
Hervélo for men - while we are a women's cycling club we are open to anyone who is passionate about cycling and want to meet likeminded people.
Check out What's On and come along for a ride!

Open to all rides will be updated on the main Hervelo facebook page.
Hervélo have some lovely kit available to members. We order kit once a year and our next kit order is due in February 2019.
